Each child has their own profile, their own progress and their own streak, on one subscription. Switching between them takes one tap.
A dashboard that does not flatter
It counts words a child can recall unprompted, not words they have seen once. The number starts small and stays honest, so it means something when it moves.
No ads, no chat, no strangers
There is nothing for a child to buy and no one for them to talk to. The only other people in the app are the ones on your own account.
Your data stays yours
Export everything or delete the account outright from the account page. Recordings a child makes while practising speech never leave the device.
Language lives outside the lesson.
Families share ordinary moments — a meal cooked, a book read, a walk taken — written once in English and once in Tigrinya. Every post is someone else’s reading practice, in language that actually gets used at home. It’s private to Meseretna families.

- Adults post, not children. A child profile has no way to publish anything.
- Families only. Posts are visible to other Meseretna families and to nobody on the open internet.
- No replies, no direct messages. There is no mechanism for one family to contact another.
- Optional, always. The whole course works without ever posting. Nothing is locked behind it.

- Each child's words learned, lessons finished and stories read
- Which track a child is on, and switching them between tracks
- Adding or removing a child profile
- Exporting everything on the account, or deleting it entirely
Daily time goals and weekly activity emails are designed but not built yet. They are shown as off in the dashboard rather than as switches that would do nothing.
Questions parents ask
How much time does it take?
A lesson is about five minutes. The app is built for a short session most days rather than a long one on Sunday, because that is what actually holds vocabulary.
Does my child need to read English?
Not much. The youngest setting leans on pictures and sound, and a grown-up can sit alongside for the first few weeks.
What if we already speak some Tigrinya at home?
A short check at signup suggests where to start, and you can override it. Nothing is locked behind lessons your child does not need.
Can I see what they have done?
Yes — the parent dashboard lists each child with words learned, lessons finished, stories read and when they were last active.
