Plain terms for a family product. Where something below could be read two ways, the reading that favours you is the one we will apply.

Who can hold an account

An adult. Child profiles live inside an adult’s account and are managed by them — a child cannot open an account, and cannot reach billing or security settings.

The free trial

7 days, no card, and no automatic charge when it ends. When the trial finishes the account simply stops opening new lessons until you choose a plan. We will email you before that happens. Nothing is taken from you unless you deliberately enter payment details and pick a plan.

Paying

$4.99 a month, or $49.99 a year. One subscription covers up to four children. Payments are handled by Stripe; card details never reach us.

Cancelling

From your account settings, at any time, without asking anyone. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not charge a cancellation fee and we do not require notice.

Refunds

If you are charged for a period you did not intend to buy — a renewal you meant to cancel, a duplicate charge, a plan bought by mistake — write to us and we will refund it. We would rather refund a month than argue about it.

What we promise about the teaching

Honestly: the vocabulary in this course is large, and it was assembled with machine assistance before being reviewed. We are working through it with native speakers, and words that have not yet been checked may contain errors. We tell you this here rather than let you discover it, and reporting one is the fastest way it gets fixed.

We do not promise that a child will reach any particular level of Tigrinya. Nobody honestly can — that depends on the child, the family, and how often they practise.

The family community

The family feed is private to Meseretna families, and posting is optional — the whole course works without it. Do not post anything about a child that you would not want another family to read. We remove content that is unkind, unsafe, or not what the feed is for.

Ending an account

You can delete your account whenever you like, and everything described in the privacy page goes with it. We may suspend an account that is being used to harm someone, and we will tell you why.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that affects what you pay or what you get, we will email the account before it takes effect.
