Plain terms for a family product. Where something below could be read two ways, the reading that favours you is the one we will apply.
Who can hold an account
An adult. Child profiles live inside an adult’s account and are managed by them — a child cannot open an account, and cannot reach billing or security settings.
The free trial
7 days, no card, and no automatic charge when it ends. When the trial finishes the account simply stops opening new lessons until you choose a plan. We will email you before that happens. Nothing is taken from you unless you deliberately enter payment details and pick a plan.
Paying
$4.99 a month, or $49.99 a year. One subscription covers up to four children. Payments are handled by Stripe; card details never reach us.
Cancelling
From your account settings, at any time, without asking anyone. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not charge a cancellation fee and we do not require notice.
Refunds
If you are charged for a period you did not intend to buy — a renewal you meant to cancel, a duplicate charge, a plan bought by mistake — write to us and we will refund it. We would rather refund a month than argue about it.
What we promise about the teaching
Honestly: the vocabulary in this course is large, and it was assembled with machine assistance before being reviewed. We are working through it with native speakers, and words that have not yet been checked may contain errors. We tell you this here rather than let you discover it, and reporting one is the fastest way it gets fixed.
We do not promise that a child will reach any particular level of Tigrinya. Nobody honestly can — that depends on the child, the family, and how often they practise.
The family feed
The family feed is private to your own account. Posts are visible to you and to the children on your account, and to nobody else — not other families, and not anyone outside the app. Posting is optional and the whole course works without it. We remove content that is unkind, unsafe, or not what the feed is for.
The daily challenge and the prize
The daily challenge is a timed quiz. There is one attempt per child per day, and an attempt counts from the moment it is started, whether or not it is finished.
Scores are ranked privately. A player sees their own position and the number of people playing, never another child’s name, initial or score, and no child is shown to any family but their own. We pay $50 to the account whose player has the highest total over each two week period. Payment is made to the adult who holds the account, never to a child, and we may ask you to confirm who you are before paying.
No purchase is needed to enter beyond an active account, and entry is not a game of chance — the prize is decided by score alone. We may change or end the prize at any time, and we will say so on this page before a period that is already running ends. Where local law does not allow a prize of this kind, we will not pay one.
Ending an account
You can delete your account whenever you like, and everything described in the privacy page goes with it. We may suspend an account that is being used to harm someone, and we will tell you why.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change in a way that affects what you pay or what you get, we will email the account before it takes effect.
